Site News : Hillsboro bound
Posted by Kevin on 2008/9/9 12:34:16 (26 reads)

Thunder in the Hills! I've been going to this race since I used to be their Barefoot Exhibitions back in the early 90's. My son Lucas was there when he was 1 month old and the whole time I was skiing, they were talking about Lucas. I love this site. It's a racer's race with little pagentry, a camping atmosphere and usually followed by a hangover Sun. morning. We will be running four boats there this weekend if Steve Wolfe can get his NM boat up from Atlanta. The SK-333, SK 484 and the S-07 Blue Chips will keep us real busy and likely sore on Monday again. I am just recovering from Wheeling and here we go again. Funny thing, I was barerfooting on Sunday afternoon and a rare fall hyper extended my body which seemed to fix what was sore before. I'm a regular at the "Hair of the Dog" clinic.

Site News : Wheeling wrap up

Wow was Wheeling fun. I couldn't move yesterday without pain and I think I will be sore for days to come. We drove the Blue Chips S-07, Miss Mandella SK-333 and the Can't Wait SK-169 more than ever before. A little hair of the dog came yesterday, as I snuck one more SK-333 run on the Scioto before giving her a needed bath. The folks that made it to this event have already marked off their 2009 calendars and are counting down the days. The biggest fastest GP were there putting on one hell of a show. It was a blast running with Ken Warby's flatbottoms which is likely why I am still sore. While I may have worn out my body keeping up with Ken's boats, he wore out his motors staying in front of my Mandella. Classic David and Goliath. I sure a good "grudge" match will pursue when we get together again at Rocky Fork in a few weeks. I need to thank Rotten Rob for all the times he allowed others to drive the Blue Chips. It is a great handling boat that put some new drivers like Eric Hoeft in the driver's seat. A true ambassador to the sport of boat racing, Rob Kaufman can drive a mean flatbottom and probably earned one of the most impressive leaps that made many look at each other in awe, even Larry Lautherbach had something to say about it. I can't put to words all the great people who were there and things we did, you just have to go next year and see for yourself. See you next at Rocky Fork in Hillsboro,Ohio.

Site News : Celina's 2008 Inboard Nationals

I finally just got the pictures loaded from last weekend's race. It was kind of a hectic pace all weekend and not as enjoyable as in the past as it seemed to over tax the area and site. I told someone it was like a stereo turned too loud all weekend. Sensory overload.
There was a good turnout and I wish a few more boats could have run with us especially the two John Jenkins projects including Jon Bartell Jr's Gurf Oil S boat which got beached for not pre-registering and John Starkey's F-37 boat which had some over jetting in the carbs. We hope to see the two on the water sooner than later.
I did not take many race pictures as everyone else had that covered. Go to Roostertails.com for crazy GNH carnage photos as they really took a beating last weekend. Overall we had plenty of water time and great crowd to please as Celina loves racing.

See ya' all at Wheeeeeling!

I was asked about adding videos to this website. I am already streaming out over 10 gig of still pictures a month and that's HUGE.

You can already go to my webpage on Youtube.com by searching: videos submitted by "kevklosterman" and search from there. I think I have about 20 or so clips already however, I have a whole bunch of real entertaining video clips under my "favorites".

I will be loading the new videos that we are going to be shooting from our race boats on the YouTube site starting next week to spread the bandwidth off my site.

Site News : Busy week or two ahead...

We are in the final stretch before Celina's National race and Wheeling's event the following weekend. I am looking forward to driving Steve Wolf's National Modified boat in Celina and getting the F-333 wet again. Due to a "paperwork malfunction" last year, I am tempted to not drive vintage in Celina as I kinda got the shaft when my sponsor signed the wrong paperwork before his SK-333 ride and got me eliminated from driving current boats for the weekend. A stupid mistake that cost our sport a great sponsor thus GNH-33 remained quiet for 2008. Enough of that.

We have been skiing almost every morning for the past month and have been sneaking the SK-333 on the Scioto for a "test or two". I can't believe it is almost Fall and the kids will be back in school. My son Lucas is mastering kneeboarding as he turns 9 tomorrow. I have no immediate plans on teaching him to barefoot until he asks me first. He watches me 'foot in the mornings and knows what it's all about but is OK with just being my personal photographer. Both my brother Kory and his girlfriend Michelle got 2nd place last weekend at the Wakesurfing Nationals held on the Scioto River.
Check out www.ohioboardsports.com for more info on Ohio Wakesurfing.

FYI,... I noticed we have not had that many folks sign up as members on this site. By signing in, you will recieve a few special invites to some secret upcoming events, updates and unique offers only circulated to the site members. Don't miss the boat!

Hope to have a great update after next weekend...
